Our Story

Building Nigeria's industrial capacity from the ground up — for over three decades.

How It All Began

Shebag Holdings Limited was founded in 1988 with a singular observation: foreign companies had come to dominate Nigeria's oil industry and its field services sector, providing technical, scientific, and engineering solutions that Nigeria ought to produce for itself.

The need to indigenise these areas — especially Engineering Supplies — was not just commercially imperative; it was a matter of national interest. That conviction gave birth to Shebag Holdings.

Over the decades, we competed successfully with multinational companies, diversified into agriculture, food, spices, and solid minerals, and developed a track record that earned us international recognition including the prestigious Euromarket Award in Brussels in 2002.

What Drives Us

I.

Indigenisation

We were founded on the conviction that Nigeria must own and operate its critical industries. We exist to develop local expertise and reduce dependence on foreign service providers.

II.

Quality

Whether supplying a laboratory instrument, shipping a container of sesame seeds, or managing an engineering contract — our standard is uncompromising quality delivery.

III.

Integrity

Three decades of business have been built on trust. We honour our contracts, our partners, and our obligations to the communities and institutions we serve.

IV.

Employment

We believe business must create opportunity. We are committed to hiring and training Nigerians — building a workforce that can compete on the world stage.

V.

Export Vision

Our long-term ambition is to export Nigerian expertise and products to the West Coast of Africa and beyond — becoming a regional champion, not just a national one.

VI.

Diversification

We do not place all our strength in one sector. Our diversified model — spanning ICT, agriculture, engineering, and mining — ensures resilience and sustained impact.

Building Nigeria, Responsibly

Sustainability is not an afterthought at Shebag Holdings — it is woven into how we operate across every division, from sustainable sourcing in agriculture to responsible extraction in mining.

Our approach to sustainability is shaped by a core belief: Nigerian businesses must lead — not follow — on environmental responsibility, ethical governance, and inclusive economic development. The decisions we make today shape the country our children will inherit tomorrow.

Across our five divisions, we operate to international ESG standards: working with verified farmers, applying rigorous environmental controls in mining, supporting Nigerian SMEs through our supply chain, and continuously raising the bar on workplace standards.

🎓 Founder's Commitment: Sheriff Balogun is currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainable Development at the University of Abuja — bringing rigorous academic thinking directly into Shebag's long-term strategy and ESG framework.
